actually I would like that too because my aussie carrier charges not only for data used but also for initial connection to GPRS for each time I want to check my mail or whatever

I found a way on my T300? I set my email to download headers only. Check my inbox, then if i have an email, click it, it connects to download it. Then i press no to exit and it asks he i want to remain connected. Press yes and it actually stays on. I just go to bookmarks whenever and the page loads. Getting out of that is a problem tho :-D

I just wanted to know it because i think that it could be nice if you for example wanted to write an sms without finish wap... Becuase you have to start all over with wap after you have written your sms... Hope you know what i mean...
Masseur, do you mean that you have pay each time you connect? Like you also have to pay a little amount just to call up in a phone call?

Yep...
here is the Telstra mobile internet pricing... just click on pricing details... text is copied below for convenience... they call it a "session fee"
"Calls to and from GPRS are charged at 22c Session Fee; plus 2.2c per kilobyte (or part thereof). There are also a variety of GPRS monthly packs to suit your requirements. For further information go to GPRS."
Here is their main GPRS pricing page showing this also!
DEimos... T610 doesn't do that unfortunately. I recall my T68i did that too.

To send a text while online, just press menu and choose send via sms. Just erase the text and put in your own.

Some operators disconnect he there is no traffic for an hour. Not in my case. I have unlimited wap over gprs for $4 and 15 mb of internet over gprs for $12 monthly.
