> taking my t610 from uk to USA to live
Bookmark topic
CAn I do this. At present I am with Orange. I will be living in the States and found that reception was OK within LA and other major cities that I visited. I would like to keep the phone and just sign up with an american telco.
I assume that first I need to get the phone unlocked. I will have had the phone just about over 6 months I think. Will I have to pay, is it best to get Orange to do this or can I go to some dodgy place to have it done cheaper. Will unlocking it allow me to use it in the states OK? I heard that they dont even use SIM cards or something over there.. sure this is wrong.
Will a US telco allow me to use this phone on their network.
Do most US telcos subsidise their phones as much as here.. ie. would it be easier just to sign up with a US carrier and get a new T610 for around the same prices as mine cost here ie. free!
please forgive so many question!

In my opinion, unlocking it anywhere is the same thing. But do not take my word for it, because there is always a possibility.
If you want to be safe, get Orange to do it, but of course it will be too much for it's worth.
Second of all, you can go to the states and purchase JUST the simcard and place it in your phone, it doesn't matter what phone you have, they wouldn't care.
