Phone: P800 - Firmware: R2D (Phone) / R2A16 (Org.) / R3A12 (CDA)
Carrier: T-Mobile USA - (midwest)
Also: Vodophone, T-Mo NL

Issue: For the past 7 months I have not been able to send "outgoing" MMSes from my P800. Aparently the message gets to about 94% and fails each time. This is the error it reads exactly: "Check MMS account settings in Control Panel". With that stated, I have been able in receive "inbound" MMSes. I have tried to simply reply or create a new MMS and it fails.

Troubleshooting Steps Attempted: Thus, far I have contacted my carrier and they have verified that my MMS settings are correct. I have manually entered the numbers and they have also SMSed me a file that automatically configures my phone. When I place the out going MMS I have tried using the following formats for the phone # it's being sent to: Example - 555-555-5555 / 5555555555 / +5555555555 / 15555555555 / 0015555555555. I have even tried sending the MMS to an email address. However, it keeps going and gets stuck at 94%. I have only been successful at transmitting an MMS only 1 time and after that it never worked again.

I want to figure out if this is a phone related issue (firmware,software,etc..) or if it's a carrier issue. What I don't understand is that If I am able to receive an MMS surely I should be able to send one out. The T-MO techs have informed me that the outgoing/incomming MMS msgs go throught the same server. I also have a Pop3 account on this phone and I can no longer send outgoing msgs from the phone either. It tells me that I am sending to an incorrect address... What process does a msg go through when going through a cellular messaging server? I want to understand why it specifically fails at 94% each time and tells me to check my settings. Has anyone experienced this issue? Has any T-Mo users been successful at sending a MMS through this phone?

well here is my 2cents:

i too had the problem but i got it fixed by simply making sure the email address were right and the mms capable phones i sent to had no () or - in them (eg. 5555555555) like you already said you tried.

i would consider a firmware upgrade and then downloading the auto setup mms configurator and wap settings from

i recently upgraded to firmware org. R2D02 which is the latest. p.s. the phone firmware for this in the US will still be called R2D not R2F which is for Euro phones.

I am also on T-mo and as a bit of advice always make sure you are talking to a "level 3" administrator when you call in.

Thanks for the feedback m8. They have generated a trouble ticket for me. I might have to reset my phone which I'm trying to avoid at all cost.

well if you back it up and sync all your contacts and stuff then you wont really lose any data. the only bastard of a thing is reinstalling all the apps. word to the wise: make a list of all your apps cause you are bound to forget one. plus one positive is there may actually be newer versions of apps you have and you can download them

IMEAs don't change after a reset right? I think it changes after upgrading the firmware, but I might be wrong. For the software that I purchased it would be a pain to contact the authors and convince them to issue me another unlock code if the numbers do change. I don't wanna lose my Tracker progie.. However, I don't see how a reset would work. If outbound MMSes never worked from the get-go why should it work after a reset? I'll probably just buy another P800 and call it a day.

By the way I bought my P800 when I was in Amsterdam. The US didn't carry P800s eight months ago unfortunately. A buddy of mine just got one with R2F from the states about 2 months ago. From what I remember there was no R2F when I got upgraded to R2D. It took a few weeks before I heard mention of R2F. The US is kinda lagging on the firmware side. So if they say RXX is the latest it means RXX is the latest that they received not necessarily the latest firmware available for this unit worldwide._________________

well there is a lot of misunderstanding about firmware. i could tell you what i think but then there would be someone to say otherwise. since you are in the US go check out Virtual Dynamix. they are in OC California and are an authorized service point. i forget their web address but just do a search on google. email Rick over there and he can straighten you out on firmware as they have the very latest and I can attest to it being available since i now have it!

and your IMEI will NOT change when you upgrade firmware. i also have tracker and all you have to do is put the serial you have in again and viola. dont bother with the master reset and it would be a little crazy to just buy another. if you do let me know and i will take your p800 off your hands

Firmware you want: Organizer- R2D02 Phone: R2D

p.s. i am sure you have checked this, but you do have T-zones enabled on your account? sometimes T-Mo can Fu%* up and delete this from your profile....

My MMS is registered. I've had the phone for about 8 months so I've hooked up everything one could possibly hook up to it. I even purchased T-Mos Unlimited GPRS package.

I already know about Dynamix. They gave me a log for my T68 firmware upgrade. I purchased some flasher gear about 4 months ago, however, I ended up selling it on Ebay because I couldn't get the firmware logs from Dynamix any longer who stopped distributing them after they went legit as an SE authorized service provider.
