Hey guys, I did a search on this subject but can't find anything relevant. My new 128 meg stick arrived today, its a black one from P800er. Does it need to be formatted in some way for the phone to recognise it? In "My P800" it sees it in the browser but not in the tree and when I try to browse to it, it takes me to the internal memory and not the memory stick. Is this because the file system is not yet created on it?

TIA

NB: I think I might have to go to Control Panel>>>Format Disk and format D:, is that right?

I got mine today as well (altho it's the new dark blue 128MB MSH-128A type - never heard of a black one before)
What I did was format it under Control Panel->format disk->D
and it gave an error message, so I did it again and it worked, but there was no file structure on it, so I loaded up the audio program and pointed it at the d drive, and it wrote all the necessary folders to the stick...done!

its prob best to format it when you get it new anyway..
might not be nessecary, but would sort out any problems.
you format a hard drive on your pc when you get a new one dont you

well im presuming same with duo.
maybe the format puts the folders and stuff on... but they only appear when you try to use them.. like in audio/video players etc etc

Also, best to use the phone to format the card - some people have formatted their cards in their card readers instead...and have later reported problems as a result...

Thanks for replies guys, got it going now. Mine is MSH-M128A also so I guess its blue, but very dark. One other question is whether it is advisable or not to hot swap memory sticks.

TIA
