yes, sounds like you are trying to pair the phone with another which is not how you bluejack
just create a contact and choose send and via BT. The phone will show you want devices are nearby and visible.
this also works with business card, notes and other features of the T610

yes, initially you get your paired devices list but at the top it says "searching" and it searches for 10 or 20 seconds and then adds to the paired list any other devices that it finds and you do not need to pair with these in order to send the item

hi there
im new to the forum and just recenlty learnt to bluejack it is very easy to do looks hard but easi and the firstperson i jack was someone i shouldnt have. but the way to do it is like this
1 make a post it note with what ever msg u want
2 save it
3 u r in town all u do is now click on more click on post it
4 find ur msg that u wonna send clck more again
5 click on send then via bluetooth
6 it will now do a search of 10m to see if there is a bluetooth around.
7 LET THE FUN BEGIN

Two quick questions...
1) Do I have to set the bluetooth to "On" before I send?
2) Do I have to set the Visibility to "On"?
Cheers

When you send the contact/note etc Blue tooth wil be enabled for the duration of the send. Visiblity is only needed for other devices to see you so if you want to be uber-sneaky when Bluejacking, turn off visiblity before you send then the person cant find you if they decided to search straight back.
