I upgrade my firmware just last night. But I dont notice any big improvement especially with the camera. Could you enumerate to me the improvement in R3C. My previous firmware is r1A. Hoping for your kind consideration. Thank you very much.

sound recording can now be heard like speaker phone but cannot be used as ringtone, text tone..too bad.

clearer and more accurate photoshots

texting is easy with contacts instead of searching in phonebook.

mine is 03w24 but still the screen flicks, what about yours?

This is what I have picked up by reading these forums over the past few months, but I haven't done the upgrade myself yet:

Camera functionality has been improved with more shortcut keys. I can't remember what these are now, but their listed in one or two of the other firmware threads.

Java speed has been improved by approximately 30%

When sending SMS, they have added an option on the first screen to go straight to the phonebook or something.

- phone number option was added after pressing continue in creating text messages
- the clock during standby mode appears different

and also apparently the R3C firmware decreases the amount of space a large picture takes..ie for R1A and R1L firmware, it takes approx 50kb but with R3C it takes only approx 13-17kb..

I'm not sure why you started a new thread about R3C when we already have one that answers your questions... take a look at...
