Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can solve this mystery for me. I have two T610s - yeah lucky guy, I know. One of them was supplied by the Carphone Warehouse (02 as provider) and came with the full set of themes, ringtones and games available. The other came from 02 with only the 02 and classical themes, only 3 of the games, and hardly any ringtones. The other difference is on the menu screen, the SE icon on the top left for internet is an 02 icon.
Now of course none of this matters as I can transfer any of the stuff that I want. The wierd thing is, THE PHONE FROM 02 IS DEFINITELY SLOWER! By this I mean that it takes fractionally longer to access menus. Also if you are in a menu (main screen for example) and if you hold the joystick down, the highlighter plods down or across icons or lists, where on the other phone it whizzes.
Anybody any ideas why? Only possibility I can think of is firmware: 02 one is R1A081, CPW one is R1L013.
Reason I ask is this: I offered to sell one of the phones to a friend. Now guess which one I dropped and dented today? That's right the nice quick, full on R1L013 CPW one. So what do I do - keep the pristine out of the box slow phone, or the dented greased lightning?

As you have 2 T610's on o2 network may i ask you to do a small test, i asume they are on contract & i'm told that if you make a 3 second call on an o2 tariff bought from CPW you get charged just for the time your connected, but the same call on the SAME o2 tariff bought at an o2 shop, you get charged a minimum call charge, so on every short call you pay MORE, but on the exact same tariff.

I also have two T610s one is week 17 and the other is week 28 and they both have R1L (although I will be getting R3C this friday!)

The week 17 one is definitly slower than the week 28 one and its most obvious when viewing the default screen saver, thats the blocks swirling around. I thought updating the week 17 phone to R1L would fix that but I guess there is something in the hardware that is different between these week numbers. The week 17 phone is hardware version R2E and the week 28 is R3A
