This is the 'Triangle Of Death'. It states (quite clearly!) that you should hold the power button for 10 seconds to reboot the phone as it has crashed.

I suggest upgrading your firmware to the latest version as this solved my crashing problem when texting.

@nixin

You may be on the right track to question the firmware version of your phone. The latest firmware should reduce TOD failures. I suggest you call the Sony Ericsson help line on 08705 237237 (UK number) and ask them about which shops in your area will be able to check your firmware and update it if required.

Also, from you post it seems like you have never turned your P800 off in fear of losing your data. Don't worry, its a bit like the hard drive on your PC, when the power is off the data is not lost.

after todays experiance i have had enough with my p800 i will be returning it to the shop in exchange for a 7250.

P800 is a really stupid device i spent 400 pounds on a memory stick for the handset which wouldnt fit in to later i found out you need special smaller ones and i was unable to get a refund from Dixons as i had opened the packaging.

this phone is awful i will be better off with the Nokia 7250.

If the P800 cost you £400 I assume you bought it SIM free. The Nokia 7250 is about £270 therefore you should a lot of change!

Edit: oops should've have read that the £400 for was the memory stick. For £400 it must be a man size stick!
