I've been doing some search on this forum. I'm aware of T618 is the mainland version of this phone with simplified chinese input, but I'm looking for traditional chinese input. The different answers makes me confused:

I myself own a t610 wif chinese simplify input, but it's not a mainland version. English version can b upgraded here too in malaysia, I think elsewhere will b the same.

At the very beginning, SE Singapore says non-Chinese T610 can't be upgraded to enable chinese SMS input. Later on, they seem to allow that to be done. It is the same in Malaysia, but you will have to pay a little bit extra for upgrading from a non-Chinese input to Chinese input firmware. (Applicable only in Malaysia, not sure about other country)
Most of the set here (Malaysia) are having Chinese input now. The non-Chinese input T610 are older unit with hissing problem as well, don't think you can still find it here.
BTW, the T610 here is only having Simplified Chinese Input and Menu, not traditional Chinese.

In Singapore T610 with IMEI starting with 351252??????? can upgrade to chinese input without extra cost as long as it still under warranty.
We also get to chose wether we want the upgrade with or without chinese, reason is because Chinese software take up more memory and it's not fair for non-chinese user. for example R3C upgrade we have R3C004 prgCXC12-5585_CHINA_2 and R3C???? Latin_1.

Hmmm... I live in Sweden, and have absolutely no problem paying for an upgrade to chinese firmware.
I'm holding a T610 on my hand now.
What is different from my previous SE phone is that, even though my T68 had swedish firmware, it could view chinese characters while T610 doesn't allow it. Contacts saved with chinese characters on the SIM card will appear as "??" now.
I now have 2 questions.
1) If I do the chinese firmware upgrade, will I still have english T9 input?
2) If I want to be able to input TRADITIONAL chinese, what is the firmware version I need to ask for? The service guys here in Sweden are (mostly) complete idiots that need explicit directives to do things right.
