I know it seems to be a silly stupid question, but the thought just occured to me when I found my Ericsson GH388 in my cupboard. At the time when I bought it I was told that Ericsson's speakers were by B&O. Just wondering when did they stop doing that (if they did)?

When I used to sell mobile phones i was told a few times that Ericsson was set up by Bang & Olufsen. Dunno about them using their own speakers tho. I will stand corrected if i am wrong tho'.

I would not think so. For years the main business of ericsson was telephone exchanges and mobile phones was only a side line. This message was posted from a T68i

Oh well - no biggie. Didn't get it because of that - but because it was well made.
I was told by a phone sales person when I was joining a plan 5 years (?) ago. Me wonders whether I can take back the phone and ask for a refund because the person was acting in a misleading and deceptive way? Hehehehehe

Thanks all.

Old Ericsson phones DID use B & O speakers though unsure if still do as SE or when stopped if did!...can't provide any link confirming this, just my word that read this in numerous publications few years back.

It's very possible that Ericsson used some other parts, just look at Creative home studio, the video card is NVidia, the tv input is Phillips and the software is Intervideo and we don't talk about the components of the video card itself (Siemens, samsung, .....)

And the B&O mobile phone where produced by Ericsson They also had almost the same look.
They are just partners. Like Toyota produces motors for BMW (lollllll the 1.5diesel in the mini is a toyota)
