> Did SE beat Nokia this year?

I think it did. With models like P800, T610, Z600 and Z200 there is no comparison with Nokia's latest models. SE is far ahead. I dont know about market postion and other stats but surely SE impressed much more than Nokia.

I think it might take SE ages to catch up with Nokia in terms of market share. Even though the best of SE models are much better than Nokia counterparts, the fact of the matter is that Nokia has a more variety for a larger audience.
Moreover everyone is not comfortable with change. The word "NOKIA" is as old as "Mobiles" and most of the people might find it hard to think of anything else but Nokia.

that's a very good point. The name 'nokia' is very old and a single 'nick name' style brand name. Should'nt Sony Ericsson promote 'SE' for its mobiles?

there´s always someone that says ... but its not a nokia ...
And like you people have said it , if you ask someone that doesnt really know anything about cellphones ... believe me , he or she will know what a nokia phone is ... but its just because of how long nokia has been in the market

So, my friends, nokia is the best in that. The mobiles are eaaasy (less features, easier to find the "basic" things), and are eye-catching because they have very easy to find exchangeable covers. Covers are easier to see than good features.

Nokia had always been the biggest on this market but last quarter SE was the only brand that managed to increase their market share.
Nokia's share decreased to about 45% of the dutch market and SE went up to something like 21%.
So that's good news!

Tomorrow will SE release their 3rd quarter report and we must hope it will be damn good.. because Ericsson and Sony wont put alot more money in this company if they cant show good numbers soon..

In sweden t610 have sold most phones since nokia 3310 and that is a lots of phones.

From just seeing the phones in peoples hands se, esp T610's, seem to be very popular. But still see more nokia's. :-/
