I actually
posted information here about the SP8AA quite a while ago but got little response.
Check it out before you buy one of these handy little devices.
I also bought their standard 2.5mm -> 3.5mm stereo adapter for the times when I just wanna listen to music.

Hm. Weird how a lengthy topic on this was only a week or two ago.
Is the search feature not working?
Anyway, yes the Sp8AA is a very useful device, although after a couple of weeks use, I have a couple of niggles about it.
1) The plastic is very soft and prone to denting
2) The spring in the retraction mechanism isn't very strong and wears out very easily. I almost have to wind mine up now.

I came across this problem the other day after converting my CD's to OGG and banging them onto my new 128Mb card. The supplied headphones are not very comfortable or good but that's Par for the course just look at the iPod.
Anyway my way around it was to contact a sound specialist firm in Uk (Canford Audio) and ask for a pair of headphones with a 2.5mm jack. They were very helpful and only questioned the use of a 4-pole connector and whether a 3-pole mini jack would have the same wiring configuration. SE gave me absolutely no information so I think I will buy this product. It's from the USA isn't it? Does anyone have times for delivery or cost etc as it is rather expensive but albeit very useful!
For anyone looking for a 2.5mm jack to solder onto a pair of headphone try RS components. they deliver anywhere I think though are UK based.

good luck!
