every time i'm watching telly or go onto the vodafone site to check my bill I get bombarded with adverts for football highlights etc through my mobile. Personally I'm not interested in watching football on my mobile, or any of the other vodafone live services which are available.
But, I've been speaking to someone recently who is interested in finding out what people DO want on their phones. I'm off to do some market research in a couple of days on this subject and knowing there's many a mobile fan here like myself I thought I'd see if anyone wanted to contribute.
Basically the company wants to know what services you'd be interested in receiving on your mobile. Not so much what features the mobile phone has, just what services you could recieve through it.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful to hear them and hopefully they'll be acted on and will eventually end up on our phones. At the moment I have a feeling that a lot of the services are geared towards what the technology can do rather than what people actually want but that's just my opinion.
Any ideas welcomed, well, within reason. If not, thanks for taking the time to read this anyway.

I think alot of companies have most topics of interest covered already.

Problem for me is I'd rather use the GPRS connection on the phone and look at websites instead if I needed t know something. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than most of the services. Still, there must be some things which would be good to have.

There are quite a lot of ideas that haven't been released yet (mostly because of copyright agreements to be drafted rather than anything else) and they are tightly kept secrets that operators guard to use as competitive advantages.

I like the walking directions feature on the O2 wap site. It gives you 3 free goes and then it's 50p per go. I only wish it were free.

The servces (not features) I'd like on my phone are: Absolutely nothing!
I just want my phone to send/recieve calls and sms, and sync. the contacts and calendar with Outlook. Since those features are all down to the phone manufacturer I'd like the service providers to leave the them alone and just give us a factory-standard unit with no frills. If they really want to invest money for us, maybe they could make GPRS cheaper, then I'd be tempted to use that too.
