> T630 does not replace T610
Bookmark topic
at CTIA where SE announced the P900 / T630. SE said the T630 is not a replacement for the T610 - it's got a different market focus (aimed more at youth market etc...) with the design they tried to explain that the phone has "two faces" a camera face and a phone face, to show how the two devices have been merged. So when a picture is being taken of you it does kind of look like the front of a camera being pointd towards you
SE are just broadening their product portfolio, and trying to expand offerings to cater for different markets. the Aluminum T610 looks more professional like and the T630 design may not be attractive to some professionals
a T630 would go together with an iBook very well - but a Powerbook user would definately prefer the Amuminium T610 - which i think is a nice analogy for the markets each handset is aimed at...

A successor to T610 would actually have to have some improvements over it, unlike the T630

Doesn't the T630 does have a TFT display which is a pretty significant upgrade if you ask me. Plus it has smaller improvements like 32 Polyphonic ringtones. Is the T610 screen as bad as everyone makes it out to be?

Don't listen to what anyone tells you, its shit, you can barely see it under daylight, look for yourself and you'll see! The t630 is an upgrade, f**k what SE say, they are just trying to make you feel better! What was the shittest thing about the t610? its screen hence the t630, SE don't want to admit they f**ked up big time with the screen so are trying to cover it all up. The t610 is the biggest let down ever with the hiss, 2mb mem and shit screen. PLUS its free so everyone has it making it as common as f**k.

it's a new model with some new features in hardware / software - so yeah there's been some aspects upgraded (that's what happens with hi-tech goods every few months!) - but the title and point of my post is that it's not a replacement model as some people are reporting
i'm not going solely on what SE tell me - thanks

- it's pretty clear the T630 is designed with a different market in mind
i find the T610 works fine for me - living in overcast ireland we don't get to much trouble with direct sunlight! - although i was using it in La and Las Vegas last week and while it wasn't crystal clear with the sun beating down on the display (nether was my transflective tft smartphone either!) - it wasn't invisible as some people keep making out
the hiss? mine never hissed - thought they sorted that out pretty quickly and even came out pubically when the initial production runs were found to have the problem to try and fix it
and with it being "free"? dunno where you get that from - it's not even released in Ireland so had to import mine SIM free - but i'm happy - unlike you - i don't get upset if "everyone has it" - so what? - sounds like you need to "get over it"

I had free gprs this summer in italy reading wap on the beach with my t610 all the time. No problem when you look at it from the right angle.

The t610 screen is not a problem, memory and camera is.

Solution: Open an umbrella, look at your T610 screen, when you're done, close the umbrella.
Lol it's not such a major tragedy, is it, not being able to see the screen CLEARLY under sunlight
