The best place to buy is still with SEMICON, they are now selling it at php19,500 and if you're lucky to know someone who has a VIP card (there are actually alot), you can purchase it at php19,000. They're selling phones that are legally for the philippine market therefore you get a year warranty and with this you may upgrade your phone anytime within 1 year, from the date of purchase, absolutely for FREE! Unlike the cell phones that are sold in greenhills, which you may purchase at php16,800-17,000, mostly are smuggled or illegally shipped here, they don't give you any warranty aside from the fact that if the need for an upgrade arises in the future, there wouldn't be a way to do it because all legit SE service centers will not upgrade your phone unless you sign a waiver that you will not hold them responsible incase your phones gets dead in the middle of the process, thus there would be a very very big risk on your part just to be able to upgrade it. And I'm sure you would rather content yourself with a "hanging phone" than a totally dead one. Definitely the 2thou difference is not at all worth it!!!

SEMICON's INCOMPETENCE IS NOT WORTH IT

Well, I really can't blame you if you feel that way, probably you had a really bad experience with one of their outlets. Probably not all SEMICON outlets are as competent and supportive as the others.
Fortunately for me and alot of my friends, we never had any problems with them. We normally would go to Rockwell Mkt. branch or the one in SM City cyberzone.
Probably to reconcile this issue, I suggest then to get it directly from Sony Ericsson Phils. I think they do have an outlet too in Rockwell Mkt. Last week I was there and saw that their selling it also at php19,500.
Basically the main point here is to purchase a legit unit from legit seller
where you could avail, along with the unit, a warranty. This is not a cheap toy, we should be very cautious in spending hard earned money. Well unless one does really have alot of it to throw away, that's another thing then.

I personally, just buy mobile phones and accessories from semicon just for the warranty. Nothing more. And as far as reparing and upgrading services, I entrust them to first, SESS, then Smartnet and NOWHERE else. Good thing I'm on SE.Ü

buy from legit outlets such as semicon. a friend of mine bought from some shop and he got the T-Mobile edition that sucks. Call Contact does not have Find option! (Even after upgrade of firmware from Smartnet)

Go for local distributors of SE phone.
1. Semicon (any branch would do, as they are the legitimate distributor of SE phones in the Philippines)
2. Sony Ericsson (aka Memo Express) at SM North Edsa.
Just do make sure that you bring someone who has been able to use the phone quite extensively so that he could test all the features of the phone you will be buying. If you could purchase a phone that is still case in plastic the better, dont settle for display phones, saying that it tha last one they got, always ask for a new stock and make sure to check its firware. Looks for the complete pack, the one which comes with the phoestrap, the mirror and the phone wipe.

thanks again in advance.

Vodafone is a telco in UK/Europe - I think the mother company is in France. Footballer David Beckham is their image model.
Sounds like a "Vodafone" T610 is some used unit that was acquired with a Vodafone plan.
