T610 fresh out the box from T-Mobile - everything working great, then....

Using MCI Calling card in the US, the dial routine is MCI - access number - PIN/Verification code - called number. In the T610, these items are loaded under 'Calls', 'Time & Cost', 'Calling cards'. To use the function you go to the number to call then press 'More' and it gives you the 'calling card' option. This then dials the MCI access number, and then gives you a screen asking if the PIN/Verification code should be sent Y/N?. After you hear the tone, you send the PIN. So far so good! Here's the problem... Even though a screen then comes after the PIN tones have been sent asking you to 'Dial the number Y/N?' the phone immedeately dials the number anyway! The problem is that MCI takes about 5-6 secs to verify the PIN you've sent. This means that the PIN is corrupted and the call fails. SE support claim they've not heard of this issue before.

I've traded up from a T68m that had the 'press and hold' Send button function, where you put pauses in the dial string - very cool. Almost completely automated use of dialing cards from the contact menu. Why did this have to change?????

Thanks

The calling card setting/using was good on the t68 (shame you could only have two different companies access ccodes in it though) i ussed tthis system for ages with no probs, then i used the p800 calling card system, which again was different, giving me a "yes" or "no" option every call.
I havnt used a t610 yet but on one of my phones i remember putting in pauses, between the accessss number & the destination number, maybe it was with the "p" on holding the star key down. if i hold the starkey on my p8, it gives the "p" symbol while dialing a number, but its not available in virtual keyboard when adding a contact,on t610 you add contact numbers using the keypad so why not give it a try.

Thanks for the input - On the T610, the pause key is '7' (for 'p' I guess!) and this does put a pause in any dial string. However, I tried putting pauses at the end of the PIN/Verification string to delay it going to the number, but this didn't work. Of course, I don't want to put pauses in front of every number in the phone book!

Pause in front of the number doesn't work either! T610 waits forever with
"Send called number?"
[Yes] [No]

Pressing "Yes" doesn't do anything; it just sits there!!
