why use a program when you can use many of the inbuilt functions of the phone to send messages back and forth?

yes, they are in built! i.e. just use the notes function for example

Im currently developing an application so you can use the phone via bluetooth or ir (serial connection) with the irc-network.
Right now the program does this:
Connect to an irc-server
Join a channel
Send all messages from irc to the phone display
When I get time I will implement icq and msn but I will first finish the irc-client.

Is this software for the phone (Java or C or something?) or software for Windows which will appear in the 'accessories' menu on the phone like PCControl?

here we go
1 i connect my phone and the pc with the BT serial port
2 i start blirc
3 i choose than connect phone
4 in the phone i choose accesoires
5 in the phone i select conent to irc
en then i get this error run-time error 97 subscript out of range
sorry for the very bad englisch
