Ok I'll admit it, I'm getting jealous of all the talk about the changes in the new software for the T68. My question is, if the T39 is pretty much a non-color T68, how much of these new features (better T9, MMS, WAP 2, faster performance) will trickle down to the next T39 upgrades?

I just upgraded to R4A008 for my T39 this week and although there is an overall improvement in speed and stability, there is still a lot more to be desired with regards to the speed of the T9 and overall message handling. I know some of you will say just buy a T68, but I just love how the T39 looks and for me, color is an extra expense I can do without (I'm expecting my first child and I have to cut down on my toys).

I'm really very happy with my phone (no more nokias for me), I'm just wondering if I can look forward to it getting even better someday in the near future.

I suggest that laffen creates rooms for t68,t65,etc... So that the info can be found more effectively. But keep the general running.I found some very interesting thoughts in there. It is not a question about better or worse phones.Just about finding what you are looking for without having to read through 1000 posts and see he it has already been posted somewhere else.No wonder people ask ten times the same questions... It might as well be a question of hw for you to support the new features...Just wait and see.;-) This post was posted from a T68

I like T39 very much too, although I have T68.....Anyway, I think T39 is a design-dead-end.
Just check S/E joint-venture design of all new phones. No ext. antenna, all of them looks like toys-P800?!....Can capuccino-machine be also added....Give me a break!
I will just stick to my T39&T68.

jhermano, I prefer the look of the T39 as well. While an MMS upgrade would be nice for it, the real question is whether Smart/Globe will provide the service any time soon at a reasonable price. GPRS pa nga, eh...wala pang official launch 'coz they're still setting up and checking their systems. Operational (and free for us!) as of now, but it's not fully organized yet...what more MMS. Guess all I'm saying is, no real need to rush for an upgrade for this.

@jhermano, according to SonyEricsson Philippines, they will support a particular product for three more years after the end-of-life (EOL)announcement. Since there is no EOL yet for the T39, maybe, just maybe, there will be future firmware upgrades (not MMS because the T39 was not designed to be in the first place). - edited for clarification.

I don't think T39 has enough memory for a MMS update. I think the hardware difference on T39 & T68 is very big! This post was posted from a T68
