Hi,
I have tried the search method but was unable to find any specifically related.
I have win xp pro sp1 installed. Initially had no problems with connecting my p800 with xp pro sp1 pentium4. Around a couple of weeks ago as i put p800 in sync station to connect with xp it stated no connection, unable to connect to phone. There is nothing wrong with sync station as geen led lights up also phone icon states that phone is connected on a usb port (cant be hardware). By the way i did upgrade pc suite to latest.
Check this out, tried the above on my mates xp home sp1 laptop p4 and had no probs. the pc siute was the un-updated one(came with phone 01.08.03. I was able to transfer files but when i wanted to install applications it stated connection timeout or along those lines. So i installed an updated pc suite software hoping it would sort problem but guess what i am back to square 1 again. No connection what so ever.
I have no idea whats going on all the software i am using is the latest.
Unless other software like spyware or imesh, kazaa, is preventing connection. It seemed fine a couple of weeks ago !
cheers.

You know! I just had a similar problem now!!! I tried installing a program and it said "Cannot connect because the device refused the connection" or something.
This just happened right now... had to do a system restore to a time when my PC Suite was working... I'm running the latest version... I didn't have problems with the older one.
Maybe the new one is defective?

Do you see the "Phone connection link" icon on the task bar at the bottom right.
If so right click and check that you have the USB connection in the list.
I also had the same problem and had to reinstall the drivers for the USB cradle.
I have Kazaa and works fine with it..

Yep i do see the phone connection sign and if you right click its usb connected. I have also tried reinstalling drivers but still have the same problem.
As a matter of interest when i install the drivers again it installs them automatically now. Before that it always used to ask me for a specific location.
I believe if i can get it to do that then all should be fine.
If i am correct then how?
This post is continued from my previous one.

If it tries to set up automatically then.
Right click "My Computer" then choose "Manage", then goto "Device Manager" and look out for "Usb device" with a yellow icon next to it.
If you don't find it there look for it in "Bluetooth Devices" in the same "Device Manager"
Where ever you find the USB device in "Device Manager" right click and choose update driver and go through the "update wizard".
Let me know how you get one...

I encountered the very same problems before. I went to Vodafone to have it fixed but they were not able to fix it. The thing is after you have finished installing or reinstalling the drivers and softwares sometimes it runs sometimes it doesn't. What i did was was to install the softwares and Drivers for the P800 turning of the firewalls and the antivirus. Just be careful not to be online, you don't want a bonus blaster worm installed. Well it worked for me. Goodluck.
