> GUYS, 2 thumbs down for P900
Bookmark topic
My first impression of how the P900 looked when i saw it earlier: it looks like a bulky , old styled, calculator.
i went to axiom and checked it out. For some reason, it seems the price of P900 is dropping fast though it was only released yesterday. someone mentioned here that it cost 2650. when i asked, it was 2599 AED which is exactly equivalent to $ 707. 60, and it was more expensive than the former price yesterday!
my next impression was when i turned it on, the colors didnt look so spectacular. The damn thing seemed to be even slower when trying to access it and play with it. The video recording and 65 k color screen DO NOT impress me at all. the volume and sound were still SHYTE.
that was my general impression really after checking it out for few minutes. I'M NOT GONNA SPEND THAT MONEY ON THIS STUPID PHONE AND LIKE SOMEONE HAS MENTIONED EARLIER, THERE ARE GONNA BE ALOT OF BETTER PHONES and some are already IN THE PIPELINE. Sorry to dissapoint some of you who intended to buy it but that was my opinion so dont go by it. you may like it. I'm a proud owner of P800 and i think it looks atleast 2wice better than that stupid looking P900. Let me tell you one thing. SE could have put all th enew improvements of P900 very simply into P800 but trying ot be savvy marketers, they decided to release 2 separate phones. My advice is, dont fall for it. dont burn your hard earned money. Check it out first and know it before you decide ot buy it. I'm really impressed with sendo X but i think it doesnt have a touch screen ability which is a bugger. SE may even release(heard some rumors) a new phone in late 2nd quarter of 2004. I'm gonna stick with my P800 until there is something really that will turn my head. Something with better sound. Better camera capabilities(some damn phones have zoom, flash and over 1.3 mega pixel camers). the sendo has a whopping 64 polyphonic sound channels..wow..according ot that review, it will give you sound lovers something really nice to think about. the memory on it is 129 with 64 ram and uses sd cards where u could have more than 1 giga of space. I will wait cause there seem to be some new phones coming up in the market.u may like the P900 but i didnt so thats my 2 cents of review

What a wanker...
You probably spent more time typing up the rant than actually using the phone! You based all that on "only a couple of minutes" with the phone??
Jeez people, ignore this guy and read mobileburn instead. At least he really, really spent a LOT of time with the phone.

D_G is entitled to his own opinions (and for all we know he's quite tempted in acquiring the P900... just trying to find the reasons not to

I do have to agree with him that there's really not much improvement from the P800 to the P900 (unless you enjoy recording videos, the 65k screen won't hurt when looking at the pix you take or the movie you convert, the second multimedia processor which kind of make things a little bit faster and some other minor improvements like in the bluetooth)
I still prefer the design of the P800 over the P900 especially the smooth contours but on the other hand I keep my P800 in a black cover and hardly take it out so there's really not much point in liking the design
I do like Sendo X's ALUMINUM CASING. WOW that would really be something if Sony or a 3rd party would release a cover like that for the P800/P900. You can't easily scratch that cover and you could drop it as much as you want (just make a wish that the CP is shock proof when you do)
As for the screen, P800/P900 all the way. I still have to find something that would compare to the compactness and screen size of the P800/P900 and still have a touch screen (and no... PDAs do not count or I would have bought that instead of our beloved P800)

Well I went though the same rationalization process like D_G. check my post in other threads. But i'm not too harsh about it. I'm kinda happy with my P800.

@D_G said that was his "First impression", i'm willing to listen to ANYONE who has handled a P900, i will take onboard ALL peoples P900 experiences, someone called the guy a "wanker" just because he gave his opinion, i thought we wanted honest opinions on this forum, not just pages of SE praise, maybe its great, maybe its shit.
More likely is that D_G had overblown expectations, which can happen to all of us.

pachy,
thanks for your comment.
rashkae,
you wouldnt say that about me in my face. I'm tempted to reply back but i will refrain myself.
the rest of you,
if you have a P800, you will want something that is alot better than what P900 is offering. im not gonna pay an extra 700 USD for little improvements. Whats the big deal with 65000 color screen and video recording when alot of other phones are offering the same thing.
I have my P800 and i like it alot. I was excited whent he P900 was announced but my first impression when i saw it was not too encouraging. The thing is, i believe, that when a company release something, could be anything, a movie sequel, a follow up phone like P900, in such a short time period, they tend to come out not so impressive. One of the reasons is perhaps we r still enjoying the first one and for the second one to come out so fast is just too unfair and it may have a negative impact in the market especially when the price tag is high. another reason is that the sequel just doesnt have that much time to improve drastically over the first one.No wonder why the price has been dropping here already thoug in spite of the phone being released only 2 days ago!
Like i said earlier, that was my opinion only and u may think otherwise. It would be nice not to get personal cause it is easy to get personal sitting infront of your PC!
