Not sure if anyone's noticed, but the 'black' glossy part of the T610 is actually a very dark-red translucent plastic.
Makes sense seeing as the Infrared port has to shine through it, but I always thought the gloss was actually painted on!

hmmm i don't think i agree with you there... i think the infrared port is different, with just a piece of dark plastic over it.

The Infrared port is on the top of the phone, opposite the power button. (It's not that dip in the middle).
Anyway, get a high powered torch, or white LED, and shine in on the black plastic (best in a dark room). You can see right through it to the construction underneath!

Maybe dark red plastic is just easier/cheaper to manufacture than black? I noticed a while ago that if you look through black CDR's (and I'm guessing Playstation CD's too) towards a bright light they are also red.

IR remote control and look at its top ... in most cases u'll see some kind of "dark plastic" (actualy it is
dark red) .. just the same stuff that covers ur t610s top ...

Black is not a color .... Take a look at a Xbox you will see that it's not black but dark green ...
