Well the title says it all!

Was going into a lecture when I bumped into the corner of a desk, I knew it had happened immediately, I took out my p800 and the screen was half black, half rainbow!

Best of all, it isnt insured!

So now I have a totally useless phone!
Obviously my first thought is to get the screen replaced, about to go off to a SC now, does anyone no if theyll replace it and if so how much it'll cost?

I'm totally phoneless now and not happy at all!

I once did that, it cost me £150 inc.VAT
i got it repaired from SE @ Telford, give them a call and they shall fix it for ya, but nowadays it is possible to get a second hand P800 for that sort of price?

However, If it is no good to ya and u don't wanna get it fixed there is one thing i can do for ya: -

i had my LCD replaced once. for free! coz my P800 had warranty.
if it didnt have warranty, the LCD wouldve cost £79.64...

prices went up, LCD now costs roughly £138 here...

Theres no way I'm paying that!

My phone is still under warranty but I didnt think accidental damage was covered?
I'm going to go gove it a try anyway.

If I cant get it replaced, I'm going to either sell it to anyone who wants it for parts or sell any part of it to anyone who wants it! Have to try and claw some of that money back!

I'll post a pic of the crazy screen here later to show u all not what to do!

Off to SC now, hope it goes well!

Mate, I did this about three weeks ago. Cheapest option is to replace it yourself, get the screen from Global Mobility.com. They are in the US, but very quick. I got a screen and new mineral grey housing for total £130 inc shipping, arrived in under a week. Screen alone is $150, around £90.

There are videos on p800.it that show you how to strip the phone. Only need a t8 torx driver.

It's a bugger, but I couldn't think of a better option.

PS - your man is right - Fleet Comms in Greenwich, my nearest SC wanted £150. But they didn't have any screens in stock...

Just back from the Service Centre, as predicted its not covered under warranty and they said it would be between £75-£150 but it would prob be £150.

Think I'm going to cut my losses and sell it for parts and get a new phone.

Dont know about the p900, although the p800 was a quality phone didnt really love it.
It was too bulky and I'm not sure the touch screen really suited me.
Thinking about trying a Series 60 phone but none of the Nokias impress me.
Might give the SX1 a go looks a good phone to me.

Hopefully can get some cash together, only had the p800 a few months and gutted that its ruined!

Oh got the headphones as well and a Martin Fields Protector but it might come with parts of the screen!
