> P800 inaudible SMS alert ring

When a new SMS arrives, my P800 makes a very brief, low sound. Can this alert sound be made continuous (as in Nokia phones) and louder? Vibrator does not buzz either. It is really frustrating to discover an arrived SMS hours later.

control panel, connections, messaging accounts, alerts.

Yes, and I have chosen the loudest available...Oldfashioned. But it rings very briefly and is not audible in noisy areas. Can the sms alert be made to ring continuously or at least longer?

download some of the wav ringtones and set them as your sms alert. it's quite long, usually more than 20 secs, if that's what you're looking for.
