All
I am currently using a T68i linked to my ipaq 3970 via bluetooth using o2 pay as you go. Using o2's own mobile web software I can connect to the internet via gprs, but the only web page I can connect to is the o2.co.uk website. When I try to connect to any other services like email or msn messenger I get an error message telling me the page I am looking for cannot be found.
I can connect my ipaq via bluetooth through my pc to the internet ok, and I can connect to the internet via gprs on my T68i ok.
Can anybody give pointers to where I am possibly going wrong please?

thanx in hope

Andy

Sorry, but you have to be on line rental to use full gprs. O2 do not allow access to the complete www only their own site. Its a bitch i know. This message was posted from a T610

Thanks for your swift response, and perhaps you can enlighten me a little more! What is the difference from accessing a site from my t68i, and that of my ipaq? For example, on my t68i via gprs I can access such sites as google, sky news and the bbc etc etc. However, from my ipaq these sites are unavailable. I look forward to a reply.

thanks again

The sites you can access with your t68i are wap pages (wml) the pages you want to view on your ipaq are html which is a completely different format. The only way to use full internet from o2 p&g is gsm dialup. This message was posted from a T610

You can however use it to access o2 pop3 using outlook. Just setup the account with 193.113.160.13 as the outgoing and incoming server. Dunno if you can use it on other email providers. This message was posted from a T300

Ok, I'm using O2 in the UK with a P800 with GPRS enabled too. Problems which people are having is something to do with the application not communicating with the WAP Gateway. The default browsers in the phones must be already setup to use the WAP Gateway. I have 3 ways of connecting to the web on my O2 account, standard CSD dialup (GSM), GPRS WAP and GPRS Web. The difference between the GPRS WAP and GPRS Web are the login details, and I suspect the login details dictate which Gateway to communicate with.

My login for GPRS Web is - mobileweb
And the password is - password
The Internet address (I suspect this could mean gateway) - mobile.o2.co.uk

I'm no expert on this subject, so if anything is wrong please correct me. I just thought this will shine some light on the subject. I'm sure there are previous posts about this subject.
