You need to open the file, then either instill or rate with in related app. You will then be sported with option to rate in internal memory or msd. Walrus :-) This message was posted from a T68i

the file in question is a word doc which opens with quickoffice by default but i never get the option to save it to another location.

i can either select it and delete it or click it and open it.

a few more options such as save, rename, etc might have come in handy ...

I don't know about quickoffice but if you open filemanager (I presume you've got it otherwise you can download it here, it's free) then find the file and copy it to the folder you want. If this dosen't work then just open it in the ordanary viewer and save it that way.

i was under the impression that files in there were stored alongside message in a system database ?

Go through the normal messages menu when the flip is open& It's at the bottom of the list! All files sent by irda or bluetooth. This message was posted from a T68i

i dont think you can save it.
maybe if it opened in viewer there might be a save button just like with a picture or image file...
you might have to email it to a pc and put it on your phone manually.
