P800 owners are signing a petition to have P900 functionality added to the P800 device, claiming that Sony is being very unfair. So far over 2000 owners have signed this petition.
These folks are pissed off and I can't say that I blame them either.
As an ex-P800 owner myself, I feel their pain...

Hasn't all this been mentioned before? I'm a P800 owner and although I would like to see some enhancements, the truth is I don't care enough to move my sweaty arse crack off my chair and do something about it.

@PhonePersonality, best just move on, your trying to hold back progress, although if you succeed, .......

I was behind you all the way

..... now i'm going to take an old Morris Marina to Rover & demand they swop it for the latest Range Rover.

@Pachy
You have a point.
But in this case, I think P800 owners have a good reason to be upset here. This product is clearly "high end" and was sold with promises of improvements and enhancements in the near future.
Now it turns out the P800 was basically a glorified trial run and market guinea pig for the P900 (which we all agree is not all that different in functionality...just improved).
Stuff like that is hard to just "move on" away from. Especially since all this happened in less than a year.
As a person who shelled out almost $700 for the P800, I'd be mad as hell now.
Wouldn't you?

Even though i don't own a P800 myself, i wouldn't mind signing this petition... I don't think it'll work though. SE will claim that those people bought a P800 like it is, and there was never mentioned that P900 features will be added. This message was posted from a T300

...and anyway.. what is there in uiq that is really such a "must have"? that you have lived without until now?

edit: mind you I am saying this as someone who last week updated my ipaq 5450 from pocketpc 2002 to windows media 2003 (the new name) for no real reason except it was "the latest"!

Ok... I don't expect full P900 functionality (as I've heard the P900 has 2 CPUs not just 1) ... but I do expect a UIQ 2.1 upgrade... or at least a cheap upgrade path. I do expect P900 software availability to P800 owners... (at least those that will run on the P800) ... they don't have to be free... but they do have to be cheap.

I can agree with that, should provide the option to buy the latest UIQ in the same way that MS did for pocketpc (which cost 39.99 pounds btw)
