Previously it only takes 2 hours + to charge it fully. Now after charging for around 2 hours, the battery gauge keep moving one step to full and back for at least 2 hours! Is it normal?

I have 2, and they both do this. I don't know why either. This message was posted from a T68i

I.ve never seen the fully charged icon. The red led is out after 2 hours. But that's it. This message was posted from a T610

@SE-Fans

I have the same problem occasionally when I charge my T610 without turning it off. For once, after waiting for almost 6 hours looking at that silly bar going one-step back and forth, I turned the phone off and it got fully charged (no more moving battery bar) within 10 minutes.

The second time, I just stop the charging, and the battery bar showed it was fully charged. I found that the duration for the battery to drop 1 step is still the same like any other successful charges that I've got (means, without the problem you mentioned). So I guess it is probably a software related problem, the battery should be alright.

Now I notice that if I use my phone till when the red light shows out, it will get fully charged without the early mentioned problem.

recommend to fully exhaust the battery before puttin it back on charge...that normally solves the problem....i had the same problem with my t68i occassionally but not on the t610 yet......

This time I used my T610 until the battery run flat, charge it, it still take a long time... I should say it never stop charging after 8 hours now!

I read off somewhere this is Lithium Ion behaviour, but 8 hours or more is like impossible. I hate this problem, if I am going to send back to the service centre, it's gonna take days to discover then fix it.

How do you fully exhaust the battery? do you just leave your phone on and don't charge it until it switches off?

thanx

Yes, there is no harm in that. (Letting the battery run down to the point where the phone shuts down)
However some guys interpret "exhausting the battery" to the letter, and repeatedly switch the phone on after shutdown until it wonīt start again, and THAT is very harmful for the battery! See various old topics for details as i canīt be arsed to give full explanation here *s*

Bottom line: It wont harm your battery/phone if you simply let it run out of juice. Some even claim that it will increase the battery life/performance if you follow that routine the first three times when new.
