Hi.
I have downloaded and installed the "Remote Control" from www.handango.com, which lets you dial into Servers/PCs or whatever to keep an eye on stuff. This works OK if I use the P800 cradle but If I try to go over the internet it does not show the desktop. I have opened the required FireWall ports and I am sure the P800 is connecting to the Server because when I select any key send on the phone the remote Servers start button starts flashing and I can see data thruput on the Icon. I reckon its the connection speed which show 9.6kbps as this is over normal dial up with Vodafone (UK) and a BT dial number which I use at work for internet connection backup.
Has anyone else used this software or indeed can you suggest any other that will do ythe same. I tried VNC fdor a while but I just cannot get that to connect...
Any help appreciated & thaNX FOR YOUR TIME

this app looks the bees knees,

i used Citrix via my Latop a few years ago to dial into my desktop PC at work...from the UK to Germany, worked a treat....this is the next step....good stuff.

the blank screen could well be because of bandwidth, are there no settings to restrict the amount of colours used?

said you used VNC, is this available for the P800? ....if so, i'm involved, please supply any links, i'm more familiar with that app than Remote Control...good luck with getting it working....these are the kind of techy apps i like seeing in operation, real next level stuff.

Hi,

I use this software to connect to my PC @ work. I connect through GPRS and it takes some time to refresh the screen but besides that it works fine. If you want more specific info please let me know.

Which software have you got working, VNC or remote reboot?
Can you believe this though. Sat watching Man UTD stuff Rangers last night and started messing around with the VNC again. After 3 weeks of nothing I finally have it connected to my Web Server in London. Seemed excellent although I was only connecting at 9.6 kbps so perhaps I need a new Vodafone package to give me GPRS. What connection speeds can I expect with that does anyone know?
Anyway the Remote Control software comes in at around £35 whilst VNC is free so if anyone has both working can they please relate the differences. Just a suggestion but am using Tight VNC http://www.tightvnc.com/ instead of Real VNC as the Server...(On the PC)

Thanx for the replies

Remote Control is working for me. I tried to use VNC before without success but it could have been due to network configuration @ work because at that time I had problems with RC as well. I would have to try if VNC was fine now.
I connect to RAS using ftp app and after authentication I start RC.
