> why do people hate o2 shops?

just interested why most people hate o2 shops or think we are useless?
im an o2 shop manager (dont boo me) and want to know why. ive sometimes had to help out the orange shop and the carphone warehouse which are next doorishto me with phone problems and explantions. so ive nicked loads of sales from them.
(i sell about 15 t610's a week!) and actively dont sell n*kias or samsungs!
so which shop do you prefer to buy from apart from the net?

well part from o2 tariffs are basically the best in high street (maybe apart from singlepoint). but for product expertise where would buy from? say you want a bluetooth headset which shop would you get the advise from? (just pretend you know nothing about them o.k!) or where you you trust to get mobilet stuff from? (dont say the net)

Your versions of 02 tariffs have some differences, meaning if i bought a particular o2 tariff at CPW it would result in cheaper calls for the same useage because your billing company charge for some calls/freephone/non geographical numbers that CPW let us use out of our inclusive minutes.
But by far the worst difference in billing is that (for the EXACT same tariff) o2 shop charge a minimun charge per call, CPW dont have this, something which can make a huge differrence to the bill, so in short you seem to be more money grabbing in a sneeky way, after all, who would expect the same tariff to be charged in two completely different ways.
BTW, i do understand that some managers will not have been aware of this little stitch.

which tariffs are you talking about-yeah the products are slower because we make sure they work- what was the point releasing say the 7650 when we didnt support properly mms or games arcade at the time. the number of people complaining about that was a joke cos they ggot it from singlepoint or cpw. the z600. we are getting it on friday. again making sure it all works.
back to the tariffs. ok the minimum charge is 5p but if you get the right tariff that should nt be a problem? just a thought.....
we are now offereing free upgrades every 6 months as long as spend over £50 a month and get certain handsets-t610, z600 included-i might be wrong but i dont think other shops offer this.

If you walk along oxf str, the most famous high street in the UK, you come across a huge CPW store with everything you could possibly want, ranging from advice on tarrifs, demos on phones, as well as accessories and a SERVICE POINT.
You walk into the also quite big Voda store and its much more of the same.
In comparison the O2 stores are bland and dull. No showing off mobile technology and services, to attract customers and not enough dummies on display for potential customers to fiddle with. Without all this being necessarily bad i have to say that o2 stores simply dont make a customer want to walk into and buy sth. On a positive note the 02 stores at least do not contain the idiotic bullshitting monkeys that Phones 4u have, whose only instructions by the management seem to be :"dont let the customer leave without buying sth"

well, I dont know about your area but in Dundee the O2 shop is extremely small, has only 2 staff and is always busy, so you end up standing squashed in to this little shop while trying to move out the way of the people wanting to look at the phones that you are standing in front of. All the time trying to catch the eye of the assistant to get help with whatever you went in for...
not a pleasent experience, so I have learned to use the forums on the web and buy my phones/sims etc online to save the hassle of a stressful day

i have nt but been told that they dont have many live demos reasoning being people trash them - ive been through 3 xda's due to smashed screens and how many of my sims have been blocked? we have demo phones that all people have to do is ask and we get. we do have service points but admittedly only in 6 stores- newcastle, cardiff, plymouth and i forget where else. i dont want to sound that o2 is the greatest but its just really whether people trust our advice about the products really.
-just to blow my own trumpet- when i have my laptop in work and somebody gets a t610 that i get on with and i think will use the phone to full potential and not just to take pissed photos with i transfer midi files, games, themes, the esato bookmark, set up pop3 for them and offer sexual favours. it never works seen as i look like a gimp
i admit that staffing crap at the moment and half our time is spent on the phone sorting out pre pay old farts, or £10 top ups.
get yourself down to dumfries and ill sort you out! just a short trip.
was the store old dx or mps?
