I had a O2 XDA2 and I could not get the think unlocked, so I am taking it back. And they were real anal about it.

Now if we buy the P900, what is the Orange position on getting thing opened for other networks.

I am currently looking into this, someone ealier said that they would unlock it if you travel abroad alot.
I am phoning them in a while, i'll post the result.

EDIT, Orange will not unlock the phone before the contract finished, however the friendly chap at Orange said (off the record) that there are a number of other places who COULD unlock the handset.

you could talk to these guys as they were quick to be able to do it for the p800 and can do it remotely.

I guess its possible the same principal for the p800 will even work on the p900

@JiggyJaggy, @Masseur points out that P800 is basically the same phone, & thats has been around longer than T610.
I have emailed them for a quote/refusal

True but i would have thought that the P900 uses diff software...I give you an example...I got my nokia (boo!) 7250 unlocked, then upgraded to the 7250i which they couldnt unlock for one month...yet it was only the upgraded version. I think it all depends on how quick they are getting or compiling the software, not so much the model of phone. IMO

This is starting to sound like the XDA2 shit. Ok, maybe not as bad...

I will search the web for this, I will also check on the SE Developers site to see if the basic inside's are the same.

But keep looking guys.

Cmon man dont worry...u know is way more popular than XDA so there will def be unlocking solutions in UK. Im getting mine done prb within one week..may cost £30 but who cares...saved myself £700 or so by not buying offline!

@JiggyJaggy
I hear yeah......

But the XDA 2 is a cool phone, looks like I will have to settle for a p900.

Listen to me "Settle for a P900", what a great phone to settle for...

God bless the p900....and the poeple that unlock it.....

I called my local shop who said that they can do it....
