The Z600... If you have a java program running and close the flip, THE JAVA PROGRAM IS CLOSED?!?!?!?!?
WHAT?????
I'm using a MIDP email client and IM+ messaging client. But as soon as I close the flip, the programs are closed. SHALL I HAVE IT OPEN IN MY POCKET THEN????
I surely hope it's me that is doing something wrong. If it's by design it's going out the window so fast, not much will remain of it.
I'm sorry for the caps, but now I'm REALLY upset.

I can't see why you shouldn't be able to choose if they should close or not.
If I have a java email program for example, I don't want to have to start it EVERY time I open the phone.. I mean what design is that?
I was going to write a small MIDP program for controlling/monitoring various network stuff over a WAP connection. But it needs to run all the time. Shall I have the phone open in my pocket??
Sorry, I can't see the logic.
I can see however that it's for lazy users that play games and are too lazy to quit the application so it drains battery. But that's not my problem, now is it.

Although I have not tried the service you're using but when a call comes in, normally opening the flip would result in answering the call.
I just disable the active flip, and calls are only answered by button press.
under calls icon, manage calls and open to answer. disable it and try.

Ah well.. I'll go punch a hole in my wall now and then sleep some... then I'll either try to convince myself to keep the phone, since I like it very much otherwise, or I'll go down and exchange it for some other...

such is the nature of flips. all progs close when you close the flip. i dont know of any flip that can fulfill your request (anyone, feel free to correct me). you might be better off with a candybar considering your needs
