Just as I get my P800 on the market! luckily I managed to work out what the problem was and how to fix it!
Last night i put the phone on the docking station, left it there to fully charge, took it off to answer a text and it was non-responsive. Thought hmm thats odd.
Took the battery off, put it back on, pressed the power button - apart from a little vibrate there was nothing, screen didnt light up nothing!!
My first thought was that somehow the battery had buggered up, much searching later online and the suggestions found only pointed to problems when it locked on the startup screen.
Anyway i put the charger in and booted, constant red light but nothing else, pressed power button, again little vibrate and nothing else.
Left the battery out for an hour, came back and it booted up until the point where welcome message comes up, stalled and then finally a message "unexpected end of file". AAAAH so we have a problem here with the software do we!
tried countless times to get back in after a reboot with no result so again left the battery out for an hour. BINGO! as soon as I switched it on i got another message "The drive has corrupt data and will need to be reformatted"
A few seconds later and i have the thing back to full working glory, lost a lot of apps and all my call pics (didnt make a backup! oops) but after installing the software and synching again its working wonderfully! and its responding faster now.
I guess 6 months constant use and installling/uninstalling different software finally paid it's toll! but formatting was the answer.
I'm just glad it did it now and not after i had sold it -even though its a common thing they might not have been so patient if this had happened the day they got it!
