> upgrading from p800 to p900
Bookmark topic
i was thinking of buying out my current contract (7 months to go on £15/month) and selling my p800 with a view to upgrading to a p900. question is, whats the best deal on the unit just now, and would it be better to take out a higher monthly amount then downgrade after three months like i did with my p800? (unit cost £100 on £60/month contract). help on this one would be appreciated guys!

Hopefully from reading the threads here you have established that CPW sell the P900 @ £149 (before price match, which can reduce the price to £100) and require you to stay on the £50 per month contract for 3 months before changing. Onestopphoneshop sell the P900 for £69.99 (£50 per month contract) but require you to stay with them for 4 months on the higher tariff. I suspect the price of the P900 will reduce a bit but Xmas may mean that the real price drop will be in the near year.

Or why not try CPW direct again but have them price match the O2 tariff at 45 a month for 3 months plus 100 for the phone, like i did, save, save, save. why bother paying 50 a month for 3 months when you can pay 45 for a better deal = 400 cross network mins plus 50 free text every month, the Orange network promises to match any current deals, and as the phone is only on Orange go for it.

@BlackBauer24, I saw that option to save another £15 in total, but i wanted the Orange YP sim because its got free 0800 numbers which means it can be used to ring calling card access codes & save a fortune on calls, all OVP contracts on Orange now charge for 0800 numbers.
Otherwise the Orange OVP/O2 deal through CPW you mention is THE best way to get a P9.
The phone works out about £370 with the 3 month tariff downgrade.

@pachy
How come you're paying £370 on the 3 month downgrade? I've paid £69 for the phone + 4 months on a £50 contract; that's £269.

your going to have to pay another EIGHT months AREN'T you at £15 x 8 = £120 + £269 = £389
The deal i got (not the o2 deal) was £100, + 3 x £50 = £150, + 9 x £15 = £135, total = £385
Got it,
Read my post, you will see that i never said i got the £370 deal anyway

Ahh right - well I discounted that as I'm already paying it each month. My figures are based on what it will cost me above and beyond what I'm already paying to own a P900.
And considering my average monthly bill is £30, realistically a £50 contract costs me £20 extra, so that's £69 + (4 x £20) = £149.

Yes, you see i have ONE phone number which is on a Orange OVP sim,free answerphone ETC, that has NO monthly payment at all, thats the sim i will be using in my P900, so no number change for me, the P9 contract i have bought has to be looked at as a "sim free" purchase for me, but i can use up some of the free minutes.
After the contract finnish's Orange will convert it to OVP Virgin, so it will be sold on, as these have unlimited free answerphone & that can be used for completely free voice messaging between all Orange OVP users, using Caller groups, (we use it just like a sms, but its vioce & free)
