how can i set up my t610 so that it doesnt download pics from wap pages?

connectivity, wap options, wap profiles, select the profile and choose edit, then advanced and then choose "show pictures"

sounds to me like you have a vodafone live T610 and those settings cannot be modified...

I'm not familiar with vodafone live phones but I heard that you can create a new profile and set that as the default.
as for the settings.. I'm a telstra customer so can't help you there except to maybe go to the Wap configurator on the
T610 global support page
