> P800 Metronome Software?
Bookmark topic
Hey,
I appreciate this is a kinda strange question, especially with all the hype about the p900 at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a metronome software for the p800 (preferably with a tap tempo function)?
I have tried searching all the p800 software sites I know, to no avail. If anyone knows of any software, or could help look for it, I would very much appreciate it!
Cheers,
Dave

This seems pretty simple... Maybe i could make that as my first mobile application... hmm...

That would be awesome!!! Maybe the jog dial could control the tempo as well as having some kind of digital tempo entry (via writing in the numbers), a slider which changes tempo, and a tap tempo facility (where you tap the screen and it sets the tempo to that beat).
What do you think?

It's possible. But i just don't know when i'll have time... The tap tempo facility is probably the most advanced feature...
I'd just wish i knew some kind of developers forum... Perhaps an open source mekka for symbian development...

Say, if you add a midi pitchpipe or better yet, a midi keyboard, you have yourself an awfully useful tool for the p800 owning musicians out there. One of the rare sorts of shareware programs I'd be willing to shell out some bucks for if it works well (And I imagine quite a few others are looking for the same sort of thing)

This sounds great tome. l have
a p900.
l am a music producer and it would
be even better lf l could record my
ldeas while at a loose end.
An on screen keyboard would be
good & a general set of sounds. using
your own sampls would be so kool.

woa...seems to have changed a bit from a simple metronome to a complex midi sequencer/recorder! I think the two programs should probably be kept separate, as one of the programs is simple (metronome) but the other is probably quite difficult?
Hope someone finds the time to develop a metronome app, the midi stuff sounds kool, but I don't think I'd use it.

Flip - and I thought I was the only one who would want one....anyway - either end of this week or next week there will be one released. we are just about finished (www.symbiansolutions) - its not on our website yet. It has tap start, playlists, vibrations alert, beat accent selection etc. etc. It won't be free though

It will be cheap though....the developer has to eat something!!! It's also converted into a nice oddometer/jog trainer working out calories, distance etc. etc. oh and it's a native C app .....will all be on our site/handango VERY soon.....promise

thats EXCELLENT!!! wow this will be (and everybody please dont flame me!) one of the very very few pieces of legal software I buy! I'm so excited!!
Let me explain... at college we have a lighting desk (for those of you who know anything about this stuff, its a Zero88 Fat Frog - an advanced lighting desk). Problem is, it misses a vital function which is the ability to change the speed of chases (programs where the lights flash) on the fly.
The work around is to connect a metronome into the audio input of the desk, and set the chase to change to the beat of the 'music', hence changing the speed of the metronome will change the speed the lights flash at. Now that my P800 can do it, I won't have to shell out £20-£30 for a metronome. Yay!
I hope its out soon, I'm running a production next week... Will it have a tap tempo function, where you can tap a beat and it will set the tempo based on that? If not, would it be possible to perhaps add it into a future version?
I can't wait til its out! Thank you so much! lol
cheers,
Dave

Hi davenash,
yes it will have a tap start....also sounds like the playlists may come in useful for what your doing...store different beat patterns in sequence - useful for light sequences....
I want it as Im a drummer (no drummer jokes please!!)...I'm looking to release this week/early next week...I will let you know
