> horrible reception - t68i

i'm so pissed at this phone.
i've had it 6 months now...and i rarely get reception.
i don't care about all the silly options, and color display...I WANT RECEPTION...what's the point of a cellphone if you can't talk to people on it? i've got a bunch of those antenna booster things in there, and i got a new antenna...still nothing.
i have a friend that has the exact same service (at&t), and has a motorola c333, and gets reception everywhere. wtf?
i live in boulder, co...if that makes a difference.
any suggestions for what to do would be great.
if i go get a new SIM card from at&t, would that make a difference?
what phone, hands down, has the best antenna/gets the best reception?

The only thing you can do is borrow friends phones & see if it's network or phone problem, unless the phone is faulty its unlikely to be at fault as T68i was always good at holding on to a signal.
Your right when you say NOTHING is more important than signal.

It's funny. So many complaints I've heard already about T68i's signal in North America. It's making me think that the 1900 mhz band is not perfectly implemented in a lot of phones. Then again.... maybe the 1900 signal in your area just isn't good, as I myself have never had a single problem, but I've always been in highly populated areas nand near big cities (well... except once near Kennedy Space Centre in a wildlife reserve like area near the beach.. hardly the place to expect worlds best signal)

The reception of the old R520 should be perfect on ATTWS 1900. T68 is not that good on 1900 because of the built in antenna. The newer ones with better reception for north american users are T62u dual band and T616 triband...

it's your service with att. the phone runs on a GSM network. when the number portability kicks in this month, switch to t-mobile gsm.
the phone works much better.
i had the same problem..and i switched earlier this summer.

T-mobile and Orange (in the Netherlands) are having the same sort of problems with the T68i some how in it's livetime on that network it fails on reception, in the beginning it is well but then.... after a couple of weeks the reception get worse and worse.
All T68i users on those networks are having that problem. SE doesn't recognize it and replace the T68i with another T68i. Untill you send it to swap it for the 3rd time you are able to look for a same phone in the same priceplan.
Conclusion: The problem might be that contact your mobile provider.
If the reception in your friends phone is much better and if it was good (in the beginning).
