Okay, here's the scoop.
I'm not as rich as some people around here....ahem...but I tend to buy a lot of gizmos and toys, although for some reason I seem to find it much easier to buy stuff for my family and close friends (lucky sods). To that end, I have given away my Nokia 3650, Motorola Accompli A009, SE T68i and T610. I've been told its a Scorpio trait. But I did SELL my P800 (I'm not THAT daft)!!!
Anywho, my birthday is exactly 1 week from now and I wanna buy a P900 as a present for yours truly, but I just can't shake off this guilt that's got me paralysed. One part of me is telling me of all the good "sensible" use that I can put that $900 to.
Now I know a whole bunch of you here are self-indulgent geeks (I mean that in a good way) and I was hoping someone could school me in the best way to go about purchasing this item once and for all without feeling so awful.
Any takers???

I used to have that problem. Just walk into the shop and make sure they make a really big fuss over you, as big a fuss as possible. The more exciting shopping is the bigger the buzz you get buying something.
I love buying things, its so exciting. Just imagine how much good your spending will be doing for the economy!

Love shopping too.
But alas, I'll be buying online...perhaps on Ebay (unless you all think that's a bad idea).

I am sort of the same as you. I find giving stuff away to my family fulfilling in everyway, and when it comes on spending for myself a lot of money, I tend to have second thoughts. WELLL, the secret is just to do a NIKE. to do a NIKE, is to JUST DO IT. Hence, NIKE's slogan. Anyways, I find it much easier, to walk into a store, knowing what I'm going to buy, I may have the guilty feeling, but I just walk straight in there, don't ask any questions whatsoever, point at what I want, tell them give me that, and pay and walk straight out. It will take you about 1 minute. When you reach the outside, you open the box take the phone out, hold it in your hand, put the battery in, and take it home to charge it. This takes care of your guilt, cuz for 1-you already opened the package. 2, you held it in your hand, and got the rush, and three, everything happened so fast, that you didn't have time to stop yourself. Believe my, you won't return the phone either, hence number 2. If everyone else in this forum agrees with what I'm saying, Tell the man to JUST DO IT!
