I'm thinking of replacing my Nokia 6310i and iPaq 3970 combination and have a number of questions. I apologise in advance if some of these seem quite basic - I'm aware this is mostly a group for advanced users.
Here goes:
1. Is the P900 *totally* compatible with Microsoft Outlook? By this I mean, for instance, are there the same fields in the Contacts section and is there a space for notes at the bottom of every Task, Contact or Calendar entry?
2. Using the software preinstalled or supplied with the P900, is it possible to read Word and Excel attachments? Can I also view attached PDFs, JPEGs, TIFFs and the like? If not, is there readily available software to do the same?
3. If I want to send attached documents (normally Word or Excel) to someone else, do I have to do it by forwarding the emails they're attached to or is it possible to save the attachments to the P900 then attach them to fresh emails?
4. Is it possible to edit the Word or Excel files that I receive by email, and can I also generate new documents in these formats, or at least compatible ones?
5. Can I set up the P900 to check for new email every say 15 mins?
6. What's the handwriting recognition like compared to Pocket PC? Does it recognise single characters, in which case are they real letters or Graffiti, or can it read whole words of joined-up writing?
7. Does it work with any Bluetooth carkit and if so, is the carkit essentially just taking the signal from the P900 and putting it through the car's stereo (and feeding a mic signal from the car to the phone) or do Bluetooth carkits also include a signal booster and aerial?
8. Assuming I buy a Bluetooth headset for walking along the street, is it possible to use the phone to take notes, set up a meeting etc while talking to someone via the headset?
9. Is there a speakerphone facility and can it be switched on mid-conversation (for instance if someone calls and I'm not on the Bluetooth headset and they want to set up a meeting)?
10. Finally, is there any software and/or website available that will enable me to use GPRS to synchronise my calendar with a version that sits on a website somewhere, so colleagues can wirelessly update my diary with new meetings and I can synchronise and hence spot any conflicts while on the road?
Any help with these would be much appreciated.

1. Think so yes.
2. Yes you can. Don't think you can view TIFFs though.
3. Fresh mail it is!
4. No, you can't edit the documents with the preinstalled program. I do think you can download an editor not sure though, but I think so.
5. Yes.
6.One lettre at the time. No whole words.
7.
8. Yes.
9. Yes.
10. There is a built in remote syncronasation software. Haven't tried it so not sure. I think you should be able to do this though.
And welcome to esato!
Note: I've only had a P800 so thats what I'm going from. But anything the P800 can do the P900 can (and mostly better).

Quikoffice for UIQ will allow you to edit and generate Word and Excel (Excel XP) documents.
Question 7 - P900 does not have profiles. It has one profile, from what I understand, for a BT headset, which some car kits work with. Your best bet is to look at the BT car kits and compatibility information at
