My friend who works at Sony in Japan, receintly told me that the memory unit for P900's LCD display module which is custom manufactured by NEC has timing problems. Since part of the memory are made with NOR gates instead of all using NAND gates, the switching speed of the memory is different, thus the LCD module itself is not stable. He told me although all current version of P900 have this hardware bug, 5% of them are severe enough to affect the functionality of the phone. That's one reason he told me to wait until next January to get this phone. He's actually one of the engineer on the hardware debugging team, and told me that the revision is almost done. So people! have some patience!!

@mikaljan
Could you ask your friend and SE about the Duo issue. Is 128MB the limit or is there a planned non-pro 256mb Duo?

JAH:
He said, as far as the hardware portion of the P900, it is fully capable of supporting 256MB of Duo, however, the limitation seems to be set by the OS software team. Since he doesn't work in the software team, he doesn't know the specific reason why.
Also, he said that you won't likely be seeing a Non-PRO version of memorystick that goes beyond 128MB for two reasons. First, the specification of the orginal non-pro memory stick limits the maximum size to be 128MB. That's why all the 256MB non-PRO sticks have a switch on the stick, for selecting "Side A" or "Side B". Second reason is that it's simply too slow, the transfer ratio VS. the capacity is too low.
Hope this helps!

Many thanks. Your information is consistent with other information we have had. Wonderful to get some clarity on this issue at last!

UIQ can't handle more than 128MB as considered to the DUO aspect.

Also, it's a pity that P900 doesn't have a Megapixel digital camera on it. I would expect such nice phone to be equipped with a decent camera. I bet they are saving this option for the next generation of P serie smart phone.
