would someone be kind enough to give me a step by step guide as to how to get a tune(s) from CD --to PC-- - to my P900 (in lamens terms). I have tried importing tracks using quicktime and then sending them to my phone but i receive a playback error message when trying to play them on the p900. this is all very new to me and i would appreciate some help.

Thanks

This is how I've done:
First I downloaded Music Match (for free) and learnt to rip the CD:s to MP3 (it's not hard). You can choose where the ripped files will be placed under the recorder settings (remember where it places them). Then choose the files you have ripped and want to transfer to your P900 and copy them. Then you click on "MY P900" on your desktop and choose either "Memory stick" or "Internal memory" depending on where you want to place them. In either case you then must choose "Audio" and paste the files you copied.

And welcome to esato!

Best method I use is to get dBPowerAMP from www.dbpoweramp.com which will then let you easily rip the tracks from your cd & store into mp3 format (size/quality upto you).

Once you have the files just use the P800 software to place the files in your "media files>audio" directory of the internal memory or storage card.

As you see there are many ways to get to the same thing. Choose the program you like best, it's all up to you...

@psikey
Same thought, same time (almost).

Welcome to Easto.

Here is a summary of what you need to do based on my experience.

1. You need some ripping s/w to generate the MP3s from the CD. I use Musicmatch (basic version is free). You can also use Windows Media player (I believe) with the right plug-ins.

2. Once you have your mp3 files, us the PC Suite / Link s/w and the Sync Station to transfer the MP3s to your P900. Saving files in the media/audio/unfiled directory. You should find the P900 as an icon on the File Explorer; you can use the standard copy & paste methods to copy files between the PC and the P900.

The alternative to MP3s is ogg. You might want to master MP3s before looking at alternative compression methods.

Edit: looks like others have already responded

No problem. Please tell us what you choose when you've downloaded and tried the programs.
