I have tested the Motorola A920 and it was ok. But 3 had the software lock so no 3 party programs were allowed to be installed and no BT (locked) no IRDA (locked) no AGPS (Locked). All hardware was there but 3 want to release it so fast to get more customers that the software was lock ever though the hardware was in there. ANd no develeper could take advantages of this becase they completely lock the symbian os.
Ok now it is wispered that they are going to release a new phone called the A925. I have a picture in the group over here

I cant write alot about it now, but check it out and tell me what you think. I will write more about this tonight and tell you why I believe that it may look great but SE P900 will be a better phone

the A920 is in short junk - I had one for 8 or 9 days and took it back - its big and you need the stylus to do everything - the 'walled garden' 3 put in place on the gprs (you could only access what they let you) was a major blunder, a business phone/PDA without bluetooth or even a IR port was a total mistake - the only good things about it were the audio quality of the calls and a decent screen resolution (my one gripe about my P800)

The a920 is huge... council brick springs to mind as a comparison... the newer one looks smaller if the pictures are anything to go by though (it would be hard to see how motorola could make it any bigger!)
Yet which network will it grace?... if it's 3 again, then it'll struggle to compete with the P900 if it's most attractive features are locked/blocked/barred...

I read somewhere on theregister.co.uk that a Motorola employee here in the UK released onto the internet a patch which enabled you to remove the wall from the walled garden and activate the Bluetooth, irDA etc etc etc
I'll be interested to see just how big it is in real life, and what the GPS software is like. Of course, i'd then have to remove the lock to 3 and get it working on Orange

that patch has supposed to be coming out for about three months now, I wouldnt count on it coming out any time soon - you can upgrade by flashing it yourself but it is a bit on the *cough* illegal side and voids the warranty.
I had one but I jacked it in for a P800 and I am well happy with my choice

That wouldn't be the patch that Motorola have threatened legal action over would it...?
