Hey all, my free wap time has finally expired on o2

(they didnt tell me and i spent £12 not knowing it :-@) so now i would like to use an anytime ISP contract.
Last time i registered for an ISP with my 56k modem, it asked for the number i will be dialing from, so just to check will this work if i use my mobile number? Any advice welcome, cheers.

Do u have GPRS & a pay & go user? If u are then u get FREE! GPRS access, go to O2 website & download their own dial-up program to see if u can get online for FREE!

I've never heard of an ISP asking what number you will be dialling in from but if they are asking that why not give it a try and specifiy your mobile number as you don't seem to be getting much other help here.
Just for interest, which ISP are you planning to use?

i was planning to use freeserve anytime, which right now is about 7.99 a month. Will i be charged by o2 for dialling them, or will i only have to pay the £7.99 via my creditcard?

The prepay dialup packages from ISP's only work with a BT landline since the number they give you to dial is a freephone number. Therefore you would be charged by your mobile provider to dial the number as well as paying the flat rate charge. [Freeserve in particular will NOT accept a mobile number]
You need to check with your mobile operator what he charges for calls - you would almost certainly be better off with either a GPRS package or failing that using an ISP that has a "geographical" number or possibly an 0845 number?
