hi guys, my p800 will not hold the memory stick in the slot.. i've only had the phone for 4 months, and the memory stick has been out of bay about 20 times since i've had it. any ideas, mean, is this a common problem? and would this be covered under warranty?

Well, when I had a P800 (Ah...the good ol' days), I know that you'd slide the memory card into the slot and you'd encounter a little resistance from the catch spring and then there'd be an audible 'click' and the internal clasp held firmly onto the card. Releasing the card required you to push the card slightly inwards and the clasp would unlatch and the spring would push the card out enough for you to remove it.
If your card doesn't fit into and spring out of the P800 along these lines, it might be some indication of a physical defect within the phone itself e.g. A worn spring, or a broken clasp.
If your device is still under warranty, SE will fix this at no cost to you (provide someone hasn't opened it up and voided the warranty already of course)

ive got the same problem...
it is only a little spring mechanism that is faulty, so i doubt youll get a replacement phone. just take it into your service centre and see what they say.

One of my replacement P800 phones had a similar problem, the duo stick would click into place sometimes and not others, but after several attempts i learned how to get it to stay in place no problem. your situation seems abit more serious so send it back for repair.

I took mine to my local SE Service Center yesterday to sort this.
It took them 4hrs, but they replace the whole MS holder/reader

Hi grex, you may be able to fix it yourself.
Open the battery door and remove the battery and the MS. The MS Duo slot is now visible. To one side of the slot you will see what looks like a small tab or lever which is part of the same metal as the holder itself. It should be a little bent inward. Straighten it GENTLY outward with a screwdriver. You should only need to bend it a little.
Do let me know if it works. Cheers

i had a quick look in mine when mine started not fixing in properly, but then thought that i might aswell let the proffessionals fix it
if you break it yourself by going inside, theres not much you can do
