why do camera phones have the stupid camera shutter tone played after every picture is taken?
all the camera phones i have owned and played with have this annoying feature
its not needed its not cool! why cant all phones have the Silence feature!
really annoying! pack it in phone makers!

It is there to let you know that the phone has taken a pic and is processing it. If there is no sound, some might keep on pressing the button thinking the digital camera is not working.

Some says it is because people always should know when somebody takes a pic of them, in fact it there have been discussed to make a law that requires phone makers to make phones with forced sound to avoid misuse. BTW: You can turn the sound off by activate \"silence mode\" in t610:)...

Well there you go. I just changed the wav file out of the camera program on my 3650.
The photographer program I have lets you have any sound. Its kinda useless though.
