I wish to sell a phone on ebay but do not want to get tricked by accepting payment from some dodgy person. Can people with ebay selling experience help me out please?
What methods of payment should i accept? and not accept??
What to watch out with paypal? is it worth the risk?
Is giving my bank account number to the person for a bank transfer safe??

cheers guys!

I've sold loads on ebay, most recently one of my T610s last week.

Phones seem to attract the worst of people such as zero rated people who just create accounts so they can bid and never pay so I always insist people with rating 2 or less contact me first otherwise I cancel their bids and block them from bidding again. You need to be on the ball at the end of the auction for that kind of stuff two so I have a couple of windows ready for that.

The worst people to watch for are bidders from Indonesia where credit card fraud is rife. I have had all sorts of stories from people saying, for example they live in US but are buying for a cousing in Inonesia. I use email tracking and as soon as they reply to me I know they are mailing from Indonesia and block them immediately. Of course you can choose just to sell in UK.

I use paypal and nochex and they work quite well but read the conditions thoroughly to be sure your item is covered by their safety and policy.

I have also accepted direct deposit to my account a couple of times but am a little more cautious about giving those details although I guess anything they do fraudulently has to be the banks responsibility if they have allowed someone other than me to withdraw money.

All in all its a game you have to learn. Today I have a rating of 142 but I still watch for new tricks

Feel free to ask more if you like.
