Can someone post the main diffence between the two phones (apart from the look) in simple minded terms (as i find it hard to understand all the tech terms)!

As i'm looking to get a p800 cheapish and want to know what i would be missing out on!

Thanks

The main difference between the P800 and the P900 is the number 9

Normally I would say that the P900 is superior to the P800, but since I have a P800 to sell then I can assure you in all honesty that they are VERY similar, apart from looks of course. Now if you would like to contact me about buying it feel free to, just PM me.

P.S. If you want a used car I can help you out there too. Maybe a watch for the lady?

P.P.S. I really am selling a P800.

in simple terms,

if you can afford a P900, you might aswell go for it.
After playing with a P900 5 months before my contract is up i'm now snarled up cause i want it.

Technically it seems on visual upgrades,
better screen for a richer display,
smooher running apps and visuals again.

But it makes such a big difference.

Yeah but if thats all the dif is then it would be like buying a new fiat punto the only diff is "new head lights" (and i like the old look anyway)
So if i could get a p800 it sound like the only thing i'd be missing is the design of the look of the p900

You're all forgetting one very crucial difference--video recording capabilities! This was the main reason I decided NOT to go for the P800, but if that isn't an important feature for you, definitely pick yourself up a P800.

P800 can record video with a third party app. It isn't as good as the P900 at it, but I hear that there is a new camcorder app being released soon.

Having both a P800 & P900 at the moment (just got £190 for my P800 but not sent off to its new owner yet ) the main differences are:

Screen Better with regard to colours but clarity is fine on P800
32MB DUO card with P900 instead of 16MB with P800 (but once you have a 128MB card you don't need them anyway).
User interface & jog dial control on P900 much smoother (but not essential compared to P800).
Battery life a bit better due to larger battery.
IMO looks better than P800
Better size especially with regard to thickness.
Built in Video recording but not impressed with it. Bit of gimick.

Unless you must have the latest gadget (like I do) you will be perfectly happy with a P800 especially as you can get one second-hand for less the £200.

Only major benefit from my view is that the P900 has never crashed since I had it while P800 would occasionally come up with the Soft Reset screen. If you don't notice the soft reset warning you will miss phone calls & alarms.

Other points people have missed:

T9 predictive text
Better quality keypad and doesn't rely on screen contact
The stylus is now a stylus and not a plastic lolly stick - its also stored in the phone casing now.
Themes
Plays MP3 as ringtones
better organised menus in control panel - it remembers what selection you last had as well
Better calendar app
Record voice tags for each number in a contact (p800 could do one only)
screen resolution is 65k instead of 4096(whatever it was)
cam now has contrast/light/room/outdoor settings

I'm sure there are loads more, but I couldn't think anymore
