Bookmark topic
Dear everybody, i am new to this forum, and i really appreciate the helping and sharing spirit of all participating memebrs in here.
I was wondering if there are any physicians around that are using the P800/900, and if they have found any worthy medical softwares like those available for palm OS operating devices, especially patient tracking or database.
Plz to all physicians who r members in here share ur inputs
Thanks

I'm not a doctor, but that is a great angle for the P800/900, never thought about medical applications before. These 'phones' just keep on giving. I wonder if the stylus could be made to double up as a scalpel?

always amusing Mr. scotich boy!, well it would go for a scalpel if u sharpen it enough in one of those pencil sharpners:D
I have been using one of those clies handhelds by sony, running palm os 4, and had lots of medivcal books to browse beside some other medically relevant applications like patient tracker..etc, so seriously guys, and physians around who can share their input or experince on this issue, especially that i have knocked myself out in vain trying to find any symbian based medical programs.

That is a very good query, Dr.P900. I have a friend in the medical field and was showing my P800 a few months back and although she was considering to buy it one thing that held her back was the availability of medical-related applications. I told her nothing was available then but there should be one in the coming months. Now, all I can find is a first-aid type application. Maybe given a few more months someone will be able to release a ported medical application from other platforms (from Palm/PPC). I did suggest that she have her hubby convert the available med apps for the P800 (steal the database being used

but she eventually settled for a PPC-based w/ phone capabilities.

Teg,
most of the palm OS designed medical books are written in either .PRC, or .PDB format and i thought for a while that they would be readable using mobipocket, but unfortunately i couldn't do that, i tried adding them to the mobipocket library but they don't appear at all!!!, anyway, i know may be we can wait some more for symbian based medical application, but mean while i was wondering if any Java or C++ developper can convert some of the programs (Palm OS based) into symbian platform( and i don't mean Books, i mean programs, like patient tracker or patient database to keep records of ur patients on the go, u know just in case one of them would call you for an over the phone consultation.
Thanks for ur inputs anyway.

Well earlier while waiting for a thunderstorm, Zygod (my "helper") dropped another brain on the floor, we called up the grave robber duo on the lanline (off peak deal) but Tomtom (the grave robber) uses a P800 because he had some CPW vouchers he wanted to use up & he just liked the look of it.
If thats the kind of thing you mean.
Oh, i see, your wondering what were "Creating" well, Phones4U store managers of course !!! we put them all together out of dead criminals body parts,& add a few extra sweat glands.

Have you looked into
Handy Databank? It's a database for the P800 and with a little work in creating the database, you will be able to put in patient information. Haven't used it myself though so I really don't know how easy it is to create a database or how fast it is if you want to put in hundreds (or thousands) of patient information.
