I am supposed to write about the mobile phone's history in school. When I started I thought that, this will be no problem for me, none at all. Then when I started to think about it I realised that I know very much about mobile phones today, but I really don't have a clue about how or when it started. I tried searching google but didn't come up with anything (reliable). So I thought, what is better then just ask here?
So, if anybody would care to explain it to me or even better, give me a link to some reliable source where it is all explained, I'd be really gratefull. Thank you.

Wow, thanks everybody. I didn't think I'd get replies so soon and certainly not so many. Thanks again.
