hi, does anyone here know how many customers globe, smart, sun, tnt and touch mobile have? i really need to know. thanks.

i have not yet updated my site to include philippine cellular subscriber counts as of september 30, 2003 (the data in the site is still as of june 30)

so while my website is not updated yet, here are the LATEST subscriber counts as of sept. 30, 2003 (based on publicly available disclosures by the respective cellular companies):

Smart (Gold, Addict Mobile, Buddy) : 9,010,928
Globe (G-Plan, Globe Prepaid, Touch Mbl) : 8,082,239
Piltel (Talk ' N Text) : 2,539,864
Digitel Mobile (Sun Cellular) : 660,000 *
Express Telecom (Pinaka Cellcard) : 40,000 **

* Digitel Mobile reported 660,000 subscribers as of Oct. 2003
** Express Telecom reported their subscriber count as of June 30, 2003. they have not yet released their count as of sept. 30, 2003

I have the latest number for SUN subscribers... I have edited my post above... please refer to it while i have not yet updated the graphs in my website....

when smart creates their advertisements (billboards, tv commercials, print ads, etc) they always include TALK N TEXT (and, take note, SMART ACES) subscribers in the count. why? because they say its the subscribers *USING* the Smart GSM network.
but don't be fooled. TALK N TEXT subscribers are "OWNED" by Piltel, while SMART ACES are "owned" by ACES Philippines.
nakikigamit ang Piltel sa network ng Smart while ACES Phils uses the Smart GSM network together with its own Satellite Facilities (kaya nga Smart ACES subscribers uses Satellite/GSM phones)

Hmmm. So income form those subcribers do not actually go to smart... just a protion for the use of their network. Look's like they're misleading people here. So that's why globe is still more profitable.
