OK I did a factory reset on my P800 to see if I could isync to correctly sync calendars, but that's another story.
I re-entered all my config info to fetch email from my .mac account, which I had being doing since I bought the phone. Now, it will only let me send email, but I cannot fetch any. I keep getting the DND Bad Name error message. I have confirmed all the settings are correct - they are the same as my Mail.app setting and I also wrote them all down before I did the reset.
Anybody using the P800 with .mac would could kindly let me know what is going on?

OK I fixed it. Before the incoming mail server of mail.mac.com was resolved. Now, for some bizarre reason it's not. I had to enter the ip. I am assuming the problem is on cingulars dns.

1) do you have an email account set up? I only have a GPRS and a WAP account set up.
2) what are your settings for email (and IP account if you have one set up)

Don't worry chaps, i too had the same issue. I think Sony Ericsson have realised that there is a problem so they have set-up a link on their website that says Phone Configurator. Simply go to the Sony Ericsson, click on the link and manually enter information for your particular mail provider (information that is available elsewhere on this forum), mobile number, etc and send it over to your phone.
It will arrive in the form of a SMS message. Simply follow instructions and hey presto. Oh yeah, don't expect it to work straight away as mine took a few good but frustrating hours.
